Continually develop and improve products that deliver value to our customers and offer business sustainability
This department is charged with the responsibility of developing new and improving existing products. These activities have to be supported by extensive research. Research is two pronged; theory and practical. Practical research at ICPL is vibrant due to the existence of a well equipped laboratory. As a department, our endeavour to improve the quality of our laboratory is second to none.
The department forms an integral part of this company’s sustainability, as evidenced in the corporate mission which in part says ‘we are committed to provide well researched high quality personal care and beauty products that are of international standards and which represent value for money to our consumers in all our existing and future markets…’
Research forms the basis from which improvement can be done and new knowledge generated. Value for money can only be delivered if our products meet and exceed customers’ expectations. On meeting customers’ expectation, the company safeguards it existing markets and finds it easy to develop new markets. Future markets are in part created by identifying gaps and thus developing products that are commensurate with the identified usage gaps.
Also, as products progress in their Product life cycle, it comes to a time when they have to be rejuvenated or replaced by others. This is the surest way of offering business sustainability. It is no surprise that the departmental mission captures the words, develop, improve, value and sustainability.
The benefits accrued from our day to day activities may not bring immediate results. However, our engagement today ensures that the company shall have products to present to our valued customers tomorrow and the day after. In light of this, we work with our eyes firmly fixed in the future – developing the products of the future today.
By keeping in touch with the latest trends and changing consumer behaviours, we able to respond accordingly and move with our customers. Knowledge of these is made possible by extensive reading, working closely with suppliers and by attending forum, seminars and international exhibitions in the field of cosmetics. Such exhibitions include Cosmoprof North America, The recent in-cosmetics (Paris) to name but a few.

Efforts for slightly over a year of rigorous research and development activities have culminated in the birth of products that truly of international standards. Having sourced both raw and packaging materials from the best sources in the world, going ahead and applying the latest production processes in the industry, we rolled out a product that stands alongside any other product – at the greatest value for money that our customers can get.
The future indeed looks bright as we engage in massive plans to rejuvenate our products and introduce new products that meet our ever changing consumer preferences. It is our commitment to our customers to continue rolling out products that will keep them proud to buy ICPL products. After all, it is our endevour to enhance our customers’ self-esteem, confidence and personal image.
